Good day to you all and this is the day that the Lord has made Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm chapter 118 verse 24. “Deathbed conversion ” Is the title of our devotion today. Luke Chapter 23 verse 43 says assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in paradise. We all know this is Jesus speaking to one of the thieves on the cross. Jesus had just hours left to live and so did those on each side of him. Just because someone is facing death does not mean they are going to repent. My old friend Moses went to visit his friend In the hospital who was dying, who he rode motorcycles with and the man told Moses I have lived my whole life without Jesus and I will die without Jesus. A very very sad way to go.
But there are some who have to face death before they can come to the reality of, I need Jesus. Is a deathbed conversion real? We all know it depends on the heart of the person but we know this, Jesus told this man who had lived his life apart from God, and at the last minute cried out, remember me. Jesus told him today you will be with me in paradise. More than anything else we see God’s grace, mercy and forgiveness when we see a deathbed conversion such as the one on the cross. Don’t doubt the grace, mercy, and goodness of God. I love you Lord, for your mercy never fails me, all my days, I’ve been held in your hands. From the moment that I wake up, until I lay my head, I will sing of the goodness of God. Have a blessed day and always remember that Jesus loves you!
