Good Monday morning to everybody and I pray you had a blessed weekend and a wonderful Mother’s Day and a happy late Mother’s Day to all the moms out there. Our devotion today is called, ” A crown of glory ” Proverbs Chapter 16 and verse 31 says, The silver haired head is a crown of glory, If it is found in the way of righteousness. To grow old pursuing Christ is truly a blessing. And it happens with everybody that our hair will turn Gray eventually. It happened first with my beard and it’s been very gradual with my hair. When I first came to Christ my beard was black and so was my hair. Gray hair is called a crown of glory if it is found in the way of righteousness. In other words I have run the race or you have run the race and came to a place where now you’re old. There’s something about the older Christian that is just beautiful. We see this peace that surpasses all understanding, the patience that has been learned through many trials, the soft answer that turns away wrath, the slow to speak and slow to anger attitude towards situations and this is all done through years of walking with the Lord.
What a compliment by God to call my Gray head a crown of glory. I remember years ago when my beard started turning a little Gray somebody asked me do you dye your beard And I remember telling them I will never dye my beard and I will never dye my hair because it is my crown of glory and I know we are all different some people will and there’s nothing wrong with that, But I look at it as my crown and I know that in the future I will get a crown from my Lord for doing His work. Everyone gets Gray hair when they get old but not everyone has it found in the way of righteousness! The silver haired head is a crown of glory, if it is found in the way of righteousness. Thank you Lord for giving us the ability to do what we do for You! Have a wonderful blessed day and always remember that Jesus loves you!
