Well good day to you all and I sure hope these devotions are a blessing to you. They have been a blessing to me because I get to seek God for a message And I never know how it’s going to end up. So have a blessed weekend and keep your eyes on Jesus. Our Devotion this Friday is called, ” Setting your mind on heavenly things “. Colossians Chapter Three verses 2 through 5 says, Set your mind on things above, Not on things of the earth. For you died, And your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, Then you also will appear with Him in glory. This place called heaven has been written about many times in songs and in poems And it is a mystery. The Apostle Paul In Second Corinthians chapter 12 in verses two and three, said I know a man in Christ who 14 years ago- Whether in the body I do not know, Or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows- Such a 1 was caught up into the third heaven. And I know such a man- Weather in Body or out of the body I do not know God knows- How he was caught up into paradise and heard inexpressible words, Which is not lawful for a man to utter. Whatever Paul saw and heard was so awesome he couldn’t bring it into words. So we are to meditate on heaven, a place that is so awesome that one of the greatest apostles Could not describe it. And he is the one that wrote the letter we’re reading to the colossians and he says this should be happening/”seeking things above”, because we have died to ourselves. Dying to self is not an easy thing to do but it is possible! Paul says in verse 5 therefore put to death your members which are on the earth; Fornication, Uncleanness, Passion, Evil desire, And covetousness, Which is idolatry. And the promise He gives us in verse 4 , That when Christ who is our life appears , We are going to appear with Him in glory . That is going to be an awesome wonderful day ! I would like to encourage you on this Friday to take a minute and just think about the Lord. Think about heaven and what God has in store for us. Jesus said in John Chapter 14 verse 1-6 That he was going to prepare a place for us. Can you imagine what that place is like? Spend a little time meditating on heaven. Have a wonderful blessed weekend and always remember that Jesus loves you!
