Good day to you from the great state of Texas. I would encourage everybody to continue to pray for our country because we are definitely in a war for our freedom. With what we see going on with ICE agents, Our National Guard, and police, being attacked every day as they’re doing their job. Plus there are mosques being built at such a fast rate And they are not here to live peacefully with us so please pray for our country. Our devotion today is called, ” A different kind of thirst ” Psalm Chapter 63 verse one says O GOD, You are my God: Early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You, my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. God designed us in such a way that when we get low on fluid we get thirsty. Can you imagine if we didn’t have thirst what would happen to us? I can only speak for myself being kind of forgetful I would probably dehydrate in no time. But God created us in that way to where we have thirst for water.
But God also created us in a way that we are empty without Him. And we become thirsty so to speak and we end up, instead of seeking God, seeking everything else but God. That is why we go through so many problems in our life is because we try to fill up that thirst with the things of this world. Jesus said in Matthew chapter 5 and verse 6, blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be filled. And in Psalm 42:1 It says, as the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul for you O God verse two, my soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? The children of God in the Bible spoke often of hungering and thirsting after the living God because they knew that is what would fulfill their life. If you’re feeling a bit empty during the holiday seasons and feeling a bit lonely, sit at the feet of Jesus, Open up your Bible, begin to read and pray and ask God to fill up that hunger and that thirst in your life And He will! Have a wonderful blessed day and always remember that Jesus loves you!
