Be Sober, Be Vigilant

Good day to you all from the great state of Texas where I am still blocked from going live on Facebook. I checked this morning and it said no, so please pray that will change but thank you Jesus I can still do the devotions. And our devotion on this Tuesday is called, ” Be sober, Be vigilant ” Proverbs chapter 20 and verse 1 says wine is a mocker, strong drink is a brawler, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise. You have three things here, mocker, brawler, and led astray. Nobody in their right mind would want any of this done to them. But being drunk is not being in your right mind that’s why first Peter chapter 5 and verse 8 says be sober, be vigilant; Because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Alcohol and drugs used or abused I should say in the wrong way Can definitely mess up your thinking. It will make you more vulnerable to do things and say things that you normally wouldn’t. Mocking, brawling, and being led astray are the results of drunkenness. To make it clear there is nothing wrong with having a drink but if your drink turns into quite a few drinks That’s when these things will end up becoming part of your life. Years ago I decided just to not drink alcohol at all because it was a big problem in my life. The last part of the verse in Proverbs says whoever is led astray by it is not wise. I certainly do not want to be unwise in my later years. I want to have the wisdom from God to guide me for the rest of this path that I’m on and I’m sure there are many that are going to read this that would agree. Wine is a mocker, strong drink is a brawler, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise. Be wise, be sober, and follow Jesus! Have a blessed day and always remember that Jesus loves you!
