Blinded By The Light

Happy Friday from the great state of Texas. Our devotion is called, ” Blinded by the Light ” Acts 9:1-4 says, Then Saul, Still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him Saul Saul why are you persecuting Me? I’m sure many of us know the story of how Saul was blinded and had to be led into Damascus where he stayed until the LORD told him what to do. When God stops us on our road to wherever we’re going and begins to deal with us in our sin and our life we become blinded toward the things of this world and our spiritual eyes get opened towards the things of God. We begin to see things differently than we ever did before.

Suddenly we have a conscience about doing the wrong things and we have a concern about doing the right things. It is amazing how God can reach down and change our heart and ’cause us to see life so differently than we ever have before. It is only by the power of the Holy Spirit that these things can happen. Paul went on to do great things for the Lord until finally he was executed for his faith and history shows that he led the two soldiers who were going to execute him to Jesus. He went from being a murderer to saving souls and only God can do a work like that! Has Jesus changed your life? If so let us know, leave a comment on how it happened. I met God sitting in pastor Mike’s living room playing my guitar and have never been the same since, thank you Jesus! Have a blessed wonderful weekend and always remember that Jesus loves you!
