Good day and I pray that your day is blessed. To make life a little easier on ourselves it is always best to snuggle up to the Lord and trust Him. Our devotion on this Tuesday is called, ” Don’t overdo it ” Proverbs Chapter 23 verses 4 and 5 says, do not overwork to be rich; Because of your own understanding cease! Will you set your eyes on that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; They fly away like an eagle toward heaven. I guess you could say that about a lot of things that we shouldn’t over do anything. In this passage it’s talking about overworking but we shouldn’t overeat, over exercise, over worry, But here it’s talking about money And why would somebody overwork to be rich? Well I believe the obvious answer is they believe that money will solve all their problems. There’s nothing wrong with having money and sometimes money will help get you through what you’re going through but it is not the answer to all your problems. We’re living in a world where there’s extreme everything. Extreme Sports, tourism, swimming, breaking records. And every bit of this is overdoing things! if you want to overdo something, Overdo a relationship with God. Get closer to him by reading His word and praying. Tell people about Jesus and all He has done for you. And if you really want to get carried away do some fasting. And even this can be overdone and I guess what I’m trying to say is right out of the Bible first Timothy chapter 6 verses 6 and 7 which says, Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. Being content is a blessing from God. That doesn’t mean we can’t work to have nice things but the point is do not overdo it! We love you all from Texas and thank you for your prayers as our family is still hurting and we are going searching for a car for my daughter today and please continue to pray for Melainie and for Fran. Have a wonderful blessed day and always remember that Jesus loves you!
