Thank you dear Lord for another day and let’s pray for those that are not doing good that need healing. Steve King, Ruben Ramirez and Mona True Blood who is back in the hospital with complications. Please pray for healing for these fine folks. Our devotion today is called, ” Envy will ruin me ” Proverbs chapter Three verses 31 and 32 says, Do not envy the oppressor, and choose none of his ways, For the perverse person is an abomination to the LORD, But His secret counsel is with the upright. The old saying the other man’s grass is always greener is so true. If we’re not careful we can look at somebody else’s possessions, gifts, Family and begin to want what they have. And yet the Bible teaches us that godliness with contentment is great gain 1 Timothy Chapter 6 verse 6. So to be envious is to be discontent with what God has given us. And isn’t that an insult to God? Because God knows what is best for each of us and He gives us accordingly.
The proverb goes on to say for the perverse person is an abomination to the LORD and so the people that have so much are perverse or corrupt in the way they get their riches, not all the time but much of the time. So the Lord is really telling us not to be envious because we don’t know how they got what they got and we certainly don’t want what they have by doing what they did. But the Lord’s secret counsel is with the upright. That speaks to us as God’s children in a special way because there is so much more to life than things and money. Peter told the man that was lame in Acts chapter three silver and Gold we do not have but what we do have we give to you. And then he told this man that couldn’t walk in the name of Jesus, rise up and walk. And that’s what’s more important than all the materials in this world. Have a blessed wonderful day and always remember that Jesus loves you!
