Full Assurance

Hello to everyone, all my brothers and sisters. I hope all of you had a great weekend and we’re praying for a great week ahead of us. Our devotion today is called, ” Full assurance “. Hebrews chapter 6 and verse 11 says and we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end. The writer talks about showing the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end and right before this it talks about going on to perfection, And not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God. Whoever wrote Hebrews is telling the Jewish people to get away from all traditions trying to keep laws and things like that and get back to the grace of God.

Just as we can get sidetracked with sin, we can also get sidetracked with legalism. God wants a love relationship, that our obedience to Him is not through the law but through love. There is nothing wrong with wanting to do right but when we think that doing right makes us in better standing somehow with God, then we do right just to be in better standing and that’s not a good relationship or a healthy relationship. It’s a relationship built out of do’s and don’ts.

At the end of this chapter it points the people to Jesus Christ and in our life, to have a healthy relationship we need to have a healthy relationship with Jesus Christ. We need to trust in the finished work on the cross and look to his righteousness not ours. That will draw us into a relationship that turns us away from a sinful life. In the book of James it says draw near to God and he will draw near to you and that’s what God desires of us. The rest will fall into place when we draw near to God. Then we will have the full assurance of hope until the end when we have a good relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus. Have a wonderful blessed day and always remember that Jesus loves you!
