Good morning to you all and Jason and Michelle made it home safely. Thank you for your prayers and this morning our devotion will be called, ” My hope is in You ” Proverbs Chapter 13 and verse 12 says, hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, It is a tree of life. We use phrases like I sure hope so Or I hope that doesn’t happen but the word here in the Bible when it talks about hope means an expectation. What am I expecting to happen in my life? We can get our sights set on things that will never happen and if we stay there long enough we will become very discouraged. Here it goes as far as to say it makes the heart sick. The heart is the innermost being of us. How can we avoid doing these things to ourselves?
The second part of this verse says but when the desire comes it is a tree of life. Psalms chapter 37 and verse 4 says, delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. So when my life becomes saturated with Jesus and I fulfill that scripture in 1`st Timothy chapter 6 And verse 6 which says godliness with contentment is great gain, Then I will find myself at peace And it’s called the peace that surpasses all understanding when I look to the Lord for my satisfaction and my direction.
That doesn’t mean we won’t have goals and ambition, it just means that it will be directed in the right way and not in a way that God has not directed us. My hope is in you Lord and I want to keep it there for the rest of my life because I know I will live a satisfied life when my heart is right towards you! I pray you all have a blessed day and please continue to pray for our country, for our military and for Israel for complete victory in this battle that we are in. And always remember that Jesus loves you!
