Good morning or evening or whenever this devotion reaches you. I pray you have a blessed day. Tonight I will be going live, we will be in the book of Acts Chapter 3 Starting in verse 17, Peter will be confronting the people of Israel. Our devotion this morning is called, ” Pay Attention ” Proverbs Chapter 4 verses 20 through 22 Says, my son, give attention to my words, Incline your ears to my sayings, Do not let them depart from your eyes, keep them in the midst of your heart, for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh. King David wrote in Psalm 119 verse 11, your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against you.
When we are driving down the road we pay attention to where we’re going, we keep our hands on the wheel, our eyes upon the road, when we are at work we pay attention to our job And when we want to learn something we pay attention so we can learn about whatever it is we want to learn. How important is God’s Word? Should we pay attention to the details in it? Should we read it like our life depends on it? Of course! Solomon here in Proverbs 4 says do not let them depart from your eyes keep them in the midst of your heart. So he is telling us to be reading as much as possible And that we would hide it in our heart just like God’s word says in Psalm 119:11 it says. Your word I have hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you.
If you can’t pay anything else, pay attention to God’s word because it is a Light unto our feet and a lamp unto our path. It lights up the road in front of us and it does that because the world is very dark and we need light to see where we’re going. God’s word does so much more. It is a sin preventative, A measuring stick, It convicts us, instructs, and tells us how much God loves us. In order to pay attention we must be interested and wanting it and I pray that everybody that reads this will dive more into God’s Word this year than ever before. God’s wonderful word will also protect us from false teaching in these last days! Love you all from Texas, have a blessed day and always remember that Jesus loves you!
