Happy Friday to you all and I pray you have a blessed blessed weekend. Our devotion on this Friday is called, ” Peacemaker OR Troublemaker? ” Proverbs chapter 15 and verse 1 says, a soft answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger. Our flesh will always want to rise up and yell when someone is raising their voice at us. A soft answer says that we will not fall into that trap of throwing gas on the fire. It is only through Christ that a person would be able to give a soft answer when things get heated up. We should throw gas on the fire of revival, but we should throw water on an ungodly fire. The best way to put this fire out is just what it says here, a soft answer.
An answer that is calm with love and concern . An answer that will put out the ungodly fire by a few kind words . But harsh words stir up anger. To come back at someone and say things that you know are gonna make them mad is a good way to throw gas on an ungodly fire. Jesus said in Matthew chapter 5 and verse 9, blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. We can be called a peacemaker or a troubled maker and it’s all done by how we speak to people and treat people. I choose to be a peacemaker and to try my best to turn away wrath and let the peace of God which surpasses all understanding guard my heart. Have a blessed day and always remember that Jesus loves you!
