Put It Off

Good day to everyone and I pray you have a blessed day and please continue to pray for our country. Our Devotion on this Tuesday is called, ” PUT IT OFF ” Colossians Chapter Three verses 8 and 9 says, But now you yourselves are to put off all these; Anger, wrath, Malice, Blasphemy, Filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, Since you have put off the old man with his deeds. I’ve heard people pray, Lord take this away from me. And I don’t know if that is a reality for that to happen because of this verse. God tells us to put these things off and out of our lives. Will God help us as we begin to stop doing things that are unhealthy for our souls? Yes! But it’s up to us to fight the good fight of faith. 1st Timothy Chapter 6 and verse 12 says, Fight the good fight of faith, Lay hold on eternal life, To which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. It is obvious that to get cleaned up so to speak is a fight. Most of us change our clothes every day. Why? Because they get dirty. Well our soul needs to be washed in the water of the word daily or at least quite a bit. Ephesians Chapter 5 at verse 26 says, That He might sanctify and cleanse her, Speaking of the Church, With the washing of water by the word. Just as we shower we should also shower ourselves in the word of God and in prayer to cleanse ourself up spiritually. Most of us put off things that we need to do such as chores, which we shouldn’t. But this is one thing we should put off and we should put this off every day. 1st John Chapter Two Verse 29 says, If you know that He is righteous, You know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him. Let’s practice putting off things that are ungodly and putting the whole armor of God. I would ask that you continue to pray for our family out here as we still suffer from our loss of Jerek! Especially Melainie and Fran Love you all from Texas Have a blessed day and always remember that Jesus loves you!
