Good Monday morning to you all and please continue to pray for our family. We thank you so much. Our devotion on this Monday is called, ” struck and beaten ” Proverbs Chapter 24 and verse 35 says, they have struck me, but I was not hurt; They have beaten me, but I did not feel it. When shall I awake; That I may seek another drink? This passage of Scripture is speaking about getting drunk. I remember those days many years ago when I would wake up and I would be hurting and I would have no idea what happened the night before because of alcohol. But we can put ourselves through things like this In all different kinds of ways. It could be drugs, or bad relationships or whatever that would cause us pain that would be self inflicted. This verse says they and it doesn’t say who they are but if I would guess I would say it would be the alcohol or those that he was hanging around with while drinking. This life is tough enough without putting ourselves through all the things that we go through by drinking and drugs. We can also be struck and beaten by circumstances out of our control such as a death in the family which is what we are going through now. But on a positive side I know that the Lord is with us and I know that Jerick is with Jesus And I know someday we will see him again. Another positive side of struck and beaten Is that it causes us to stop and hopefully pray because of what we’re going through. Romans chapter 8 and verse 28 says that all things are working together for the good for those who love God who are the called according to His purpose. It sure doesn’t seem good at the time but God’s word says it’s working towards good and I believe that. Thank you for your prayers and I hope you all have a blessed day today. And always remember that Jesus loves you!
