Good day to you all and I pray you have a blessed day. Today our devotion is called, ” Training our children ” Proverbs chapter 13 verse 24 says, he who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him promptly. To discipline promptly would be to not allow a child to act up in a spoiled manner or throw a fit because they don’t get what they want. It’s kind of sad to see someone in the grocery store with a child that will begin to scream and cry right in front of everybody and you can tell the parent is completely embarrassed. Save yourself the embarrassment by disciplining your children at home.
The Bible teaches in Hebrews chapter 12 and verse 5 it says, my son, do not despise the chastening of The LORD, Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; For whom the LORD loves he chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives. If God disciplines us don’t you think we should discipline our children. By disciplining our children we will deliver them from a lot of problems because they will become respectful, obedient, and fruitful people. In Proverbs chapter 13 and verse 24 the word promptly means early. So this verse is saying discipline your children while they are little because once they get big enough they’re not gonna listen!
What a great responsibility we have as parents to raise these little ones and hopefully raise them in a way that will glorify God. Proverbs Chapter 22 and verse six says, train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. What a beautiful promise from our God to us on raising and training our children. We all love our children and we love God so let’s raise them in a way that would please God! Have a blessed day and always remember that Jesus loves you!
