You Shall Receive Power

Good day to everybody from the great state of Texas. Once again I will repeat to pray for our ICE agents who are battling this evil all across our country! Let’s pray, Thank you for those who are putting their life on the line right now to arrest those who have come into our country to do harm. Lord we ask for your protection, and we ask for your victory, and we pray for those being arrested that they also would turn to you in these last days, and it’s in Jesus name we pray Amen. Our devotion today is called, “You shall receive power”. Acts 1:8 says, But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, And you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. This took place after the death and resurrection of Christ and the ascension into heaven.

We see those that He was speaking to were all Martyred for their faith except John. Jesus said in John chapter 16 and verse 7, Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away the Helper will not come to you, But if I depart, I will send Him to you. We all know this is speaking of the Holy Spirit and that’s what Jesus is speaking of in Acts chapter one and verse 8. So what does that mean? That means that we will be given the ability to overcome the temptations of this world, not that we will be perfect but that we will be much better than we were before in the sense that we will be able to say no to drugs, alcohol, immoral sex and anything that goes against the word of God. And it is only because of what Jesus has done for us through the cross. Thank you Lord for the free gift of salvation and for sending us the Holy Spirit to give us the ability to be overcomers. Have a blessed wonderful day and always remember that Jesus loves you!
